
Last week, author and JHS Parent, Achut Deng, shared her memoir "Don't Look Back" with BSU students. Students were able to hear the first chapter of her book, ask questions about the writing process, and learn more about Achut's life as a child from Sudan.

This is a great opportunity to learn how to get started in the field of Cybersecurity and Technology by taking college level courses while in high school.
Presentations are at 5pm and 7pm will explain how students can get started and the benefits of the program.

SFSD schools start 2-hrs late Thursday, January 5, 2023.


Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.


In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

Due to the snow and increasing winds forecasted, we are cancelling all afterschool and evening activities to allow our students to get home while it is still light out. There will be no practices, performances, or other activities after school is dismissed today, Thursday, December 15, 2022. Thank you.

Last week, JHS Student Council celebrated Generosity Week by collecting items and cash each day. Donations were collected for LifeScape, Feeding South Dakota, Sandford Castle, and JHS Students.

JHS is celebrating Generosity Week! Students are collecting money and goods throughout the week to spread kindness throughout the Sioux Falls Community. Donations can be sent with students to be collected during their 3rd period class.

Leaders from the Sioux Falls Hispanic community have been meeting with JHS students as part of the Hispanic Leaders group. These community members share their stories, talking with students about their journey to America and the impact an education has made in their lives.


All Biology students at JHS learned more about invasive species, wetland ecology, and protecting biodiversity from our friends at the Outdoor Campus and Pheasants Forever today!
