Science was in the air at the annual AP Physics Bernoulli Races! Using the Bernoulli Principle and airflow from hair dryers, Mrs. Beck's AP Physics students raced ping pong balls through an obstacle course to test out the principle of fluid energy.

Congratulations to Jared Hulstine on being named the South Dakota Art Education Association Art Educator of the Year! Mr. Hulstine teaches Ceramics, Photography, AP 3-D Design, and Drawing at JHS and inspires students to explore their creativity every day.

The Cavalier Girls Powerlifting team are STATE CHAMPIONS for the second year in a row, and the boys team powered their way to an incredible 2nd place finish. Proud of the strength, dedication, and grit these athletes showed all season. Way to represent, Cavs!

The Cavaliers fell 66–44 to the #3 seed in the opening round of the State Girls Basketball Tournament. They’ll be back on the court this afternoon at 1:45 PM CT, taking on the Mitchell Kernels in the consolation bracket. Let’s go Cavs!

JHS Honor Roll students were celebrated this week, receiving recognition for their hard work and achievement. Guest speaker Holly Hoffman, a contestant on Survivor season 21, shared her story and inspired students to embrace challenges and take bold opportunities!

Huge congratulations to our Speech & Debate Team! JHS hosted the NSDA National Qualifier this weekend, and our students rose to the challenge, earning several champion titles and national bids to Richmond, Virginia this summer! With a team 1st place finish in Debate, 2nd in Speech, and 1st Overall, they’re headed to compete for excellence on the national stage!

The Jefferson E-Sports team had an impressive showing at State in Aberdeen last weekend. The League of Legends secured 3rd place, while Caden Baker claimed 4th place in the Chess Tournament. Overall, the team finished 8th in the state. Congratulations Cavaliers! Photos courtesy of SDPB
